Life Abroad
Our life in Switzerland... 'Traveling' captures the excitement of that time, while 'Over the Ocean' represents the vast distance apart when Kathy began to suffer severe facial pain in the spring of 2003 and I moved them back to the states. I completed my work with Caterpillar and returned home in the fall. Piano composition and performance by Tom Palof, ©2003.
Maze
After visiting my father-in-law in the hospital that morning, I came back and composed these songs. The original idea was to compose a soundtrack for a co-worker who asked me to provide music for an on-line game he was developing ('Amazing Maze').
But the writing took on a much deeper feeling and by the time I completed these songs that afternoon, he had quickly passed away. These songs invoke emotions one might experience as we work our way through the maze of life.
He loved being in the water.
